I've been playing around a bit more, and find it a bit strange that in a rich text element you can select an image from an "virtual directory" while in the photo gallery you can only upload photos (and not select an existing one).

What you can also do in a rich text image is, to specify the dimensions of the image. You cannot do that in any other component containing a photo. It would be really neat, be cause I would like the thumbnails of the photo gallery to have a certain dimension other than the default. Actually, same goes with the "text/photo" element.

We suggest you to use rich text widget only for the emergency. If you need two differently looking galleries, use layouts http://docs.impresspages.org/en/left/ho ... et-layout/

We plan to add shared virtual gallery of photos and files archive in the future.
