Pages should be made to be toggled, link or unlink to a zone. Pages do not need to be zoned, those that are not, simply can not get published. When you remove a zone, you have only removed the index or key field and not the page.

After I had mistakenly renamed a zone tag, my pages were gone. I was fortunately able to return the zone back to its original state. In the process I learned that if you delete a zone, you also delete all the pages that are associated with the zone item. This is quite scary to say the least.

Solution:

In my opinion, a better way is to add zone dropdown function in the page list within the menu manager. Currently you see an "edit" and "delete" icons. Zones can be selected by a short text description you supplied when the zone was created. This description shows up in the dropdown. You then select a zone for each page or a group of pages. If you want to delete a zone item, all pages which are linked to that zone will need to be unlinked. This way you may also reassign a page to a different zone. Just think, this would make the world a fun place .

I think this is possibly a serious weak link in ImpressPages structure.

In working more with ImpressPages. I have found that zones are confusing, can delete all pages that are associated with that zone in one click of the mouse and lastly, you are unable to re-assign a page to a different zone. Zones have become the weaklink within IP technology.

When you need to move page to another zone, try to use "copy content plugin". Later it will be integrated into menu management.

Let me state humbly that I think this is not the most wise approach. There needs to be a zone management tool which includes page management. Page and Zone management are the same. What is needed is a tool or UI which resides within the Menu Management which allows the user to select/ assign or re-assign a zone. A zone is nothing more than grouping pages. Again, this all should be managed from within the Menu Management. Menu Management = page management.

It was not clear to me if this is the path IP development may move towards for page management. Great to hear that a much better page management system is in place, similar to what I've described.

Moreover, there is the following small problem: remove a language, under the language you want to delete the contents of all pages. If the number of pages it contains little, yes. if it includes content 300, the workload would be enormous.
