I think I have answered you personaly via email? No?
If no, check following things:
Server is running on Apache (not ngins or whathever) No Varnish or other caching services

Has there been any progress on this? I am experiencing the same error. The installation successfully creates tables within the database but gives me the "Unknown SQL Error" and I am not able to continue with the installation. Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi, I'm getting the same issue. When I follow the steps outlined from the link above regarding AJAX issues ( http://www.impresspages.org/docs2/commo ... ax-issues/) to get more information on the problem, I use google chrome, try installing the CMS on my page, get to step 4 of the install, press F12 to open debug, open up the network tab in the debug, enter in my database info, and press next, get the error "Unknown SQL error." At that point, a new file comes up in debug called "worker.php." I click the response tab as instructed in the AJAX issues site, and all that is there is "0". I've also opened a support ticket with my hosting company. I've also looked at https://github.com/impresspages/Impress ... /issues/69 ...as well. I was directed there from the following forum post: search.php?keywords=unknown+SQL+error&terms=all&author=&sc=1&sf=all&sk=t&sd=d&sr=posts&st=0&ch=300&t=0&submit=Search However, I'm unable to configure my MySQL databases with my hosting company. If I can get verification that those steps are likely to work, I'd be very happy to relay that info to my hosting company so they can do that. Thank you very much. - Brian

I'd like to give an update regarding this issue. I verified with my hosting company that everything is working fine from our side. Here is a copy of the message they sent: Hello, We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused you. There is no issue from our end. I have uploaded a test script that connects to your database 'testsite1a' and it works fine at http://testsite1.di8x.com/testdb.php . Also, there is no error log generated at http://www.ipage.com/controlpanel/cgiMa ... rorLog.bml to troubleshoot your issue further. Please verify it from your end. If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to contact us. We are available 24x7. Sincerely, Technical Specialist

If you would like, pm me the database username and password details as well as the database host name and I can try some things for you if you would like. Would be easier being able to access the hosting control panel, but it's up to you.
Thanks
Jeremy

The most likely reason is that your server might have Varnish or similar caching software running. ImpressPagse is not compatible with it.
