i just started to translate some labels and error msgs of the widgets in content management, exported them with the given functions in developer tab.
then i expermentially changed the labels back to origin language just to reimport my config files. just to check if everything works the right way. but what a pity...the labels didnt changed after reimport :(
i think thats one of the most importants thing because localization helps spreading the cms through out the world wide web!

We cant' reproduce your problem. We have two types of configurations. Might be you have messed up something?

First config type - all modules configuration.

View or edit with "Modules config"
Explort or import with "Modules exp/imp"

Second config type - widgets configuration

Wiew or edit with "Content mod config"
Explort or import with "Content mod exp/imp"

=====================================

Currently the only bug we know about config export/import is that there is no way to export configs for "Search" and "rss". But these modules have only few translations so they can be made manualy. We will fix that in second release.

By the way. You can attach your config file and we will test it.

sure!
as you can see at the screenshot below, i started translating everything under content management into german. then exported the settings to conf file. then renamed some labels below the widgets images back to default language (english). just to reimport my conf files to check if it will work probably.

but labels remain in the default language instead of getting the values from the conf files?!

1.0.2 beta have two bugs about backend translations export / import.

1. You can't export RSS and search modules
2. You can't export widgets titles (marked in red). They are translated separately in modules developer -> content modules.

We will fix these bugs in second release and make translations process clean and easy.

In anyway, your config files are correct and all other values, except mentioned above will correctly export and import.

I have successfully imported your config files and translated values appeared on the system (marked in green).

ah! allright, cant wait for next release! i want to start translating! :-)
add feature for final release please:
its possible to import multiple conf files and then choose one from a dropdown input!
therefore you can make multilanguage packages and during installation process the user can pick his/her language. u know?
till final release we should have some language packs :-)

If You are busy on export/import tool - i would like to have possibility to export all language strings (some of them are in database now) to one file (array?) - this will by much easier to translate. So I will export english to file, translate it and import.
