Hi

I have noticed some strange behavior of my website in the Opera browser. Most of the work I have done has been on localhost (on Mint Linux 12).

In Opera, when navigating between pages or going from the English to Polish versions the layout / graphics flicker or change for a fraction of on a second, almost as if they are not loading properly.

I have a draft version of my website running on www.magalan.pl where this behavior can be seen ( there is very little content on this site at the moment - work in progress).

www.magalan.pl works fine in FireFox and Chrome ( and few other lesser known Linux browsers) this problem only seems to happen in Opera. (being a Linux user I have not yet looked at the site in IE yet).

The same problem occurs on my set up on loaclhost with both my version of the template and even with the stock version (out of the box new impresspages set up with the ip_default theme).

So it seems to me the problem must be something to do with Opera, or Opera on Mint Linux.

I will try it on Windows / Opera when I get the chance.

Anyone got any ideas what causes this behavior, it is a very short "flicker" but very noticeable.

As soon as I get the chance I will try it on 2 RC1.

This sounds as a browser behavior when it starts rendering a page before CSS is fully loaded. What you can do, try to put all Javascript files at the bottom of <body>, right before closing </body>. Such change will help to load CSS faster and render page without waiting for Javascript.

It could be Opera only issue. There are related issues reported for it:

You can try to search for more options.

Hi

Good news, just tried version 2 RC1 and it seems the problem with Opera is no longer there. As I will wait for version 2 final before I start to populate my site it seems the problem is no longer :D

Just for the record the same problem did ocuur in Windows / Opera, and not on Windows / IE8.

Further on my desk top which is new and reasonably fast, the problem with Opera and version 1.0.14 is still there, but less noticeable as loading rendering is much faster (so as you said problably rendering before loading css). Much more noticeable on my netbook which has a low spec.

Anyway version2 RC1 looks very nice, just instaled and had a "play for 10 mins" ........... but now I think I should go back to work :D :D
