I uploaded the software to my hosting server, but when I tried to install it i got this error.
Your PHP version is: 5.2. To run ImpressPages CMS you need PHP 5.3.*
Is there any way to use my server
Mangirdas
First of all, you need to ask your hosting provider. If they support PHP 5.3 you just need to add two lines to .htaccess file. If they don't, here is a list of hosting providers, that support PHP 5.3

I suggest HostGator.

Probably you are using PHP older than 5.1.0. To run ImpressPages CMS you need at least PHP 5.3.x

Hey,
we are using serveriai.lt hosting. This company allows to use PHP 5.3. Problem is that system still doesnt work (php code is shown, not executed). Hosting providers say, that system isn't compatible with PHP 5.3. So, what can this be?
Edmundas Jankauskas
P.S. To be more concrete, used PHP version is 5.3.6. Can it be that ImpressPages are not compatible with this version?
Mangirdas
ImpressPages is compatible with this version. Several ImpressPages websites are running on serveria.lt PHP 5.3.6 (eg. this one http://www.pasvyta.com/). And there was no hacks or something else. The default configuration. Please post this problem on the forum with more details for investigation.

Ben, login to administration panel, go to Administrator -> log tab and look for errors. Post the results on "help section" in the forum.

it full fills all requirements. i install it in the www folder and when i point to the installation folder localhost/folder-name/install it gives and error message
Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
Please contact the server administrator, admin@localhost and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.
More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

You should look at .htaccess if there is something incompatible with your local configuration.
There is nothing more to do with ImpressPages CMS. So if you will not succeed by looking at .htaccess, try to use xampp or easyPHP.

Is there an older version that will wouk with php5.2
Mangirdas
There is no older version that could work on PHP 5.2. Look for PHP 5.3 providers list: http://www.impresspages.org/cms/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=37

Hello, before installing I get this thing:
Magic quotes (off recommended) No
How should i turn it off? Or it's ok when it's turned on?
Mangirdas
It is ok to use ImpressPages with magic quotes on. Just all tests are made when magic quotes are off. Usually you can turn magic quotes of in .htaccess file. Contact your host provider on how to do that.
