Copy content from other sources
ImpressPages CMS has unique copy & paste system. It cleans out any unnecessary styling, but leaves links, lists, bold, italic, underline and adopts them to your website style. That's why it is so easy to copy content from another sources to your website.
Why there are two separate widgets: text and table?
These widgets are very simmilar, but differ in copy and paste algorithms. Text widget does not allow to put tables. So if you will paste a table from excel to a text widget, your table will be transformed to plain text. It is verry usefull when you copy content from other websites, where the the content is styled using table layout.
Table widget allow to paste tables and even transforms them into your website style. So use it if you need to publish tables.
How to customize copy and paste behaviour?
To do so, you need to override config file in modules/standard/content_management/config.php

To Paste some text and remove all it's style, so as a pure text, use the yellow clipboard icon with a T. The one below the U icon, underline.
If you do not paste a simple text like that, the html code created will be bigger.
In summary, if you want to keep some style/image/underline/etc in your text use the usual CTRL+V (Command+V on Macintosh).
If you want a pure text, use the Icon Without Style.
