Since ImpressPages CMS 2.0 you can add your own widgets.

Widgets are the main building blocks of website's content. Those blocks that you can drag&drop and edit in your website are called widgets. Widgets can have any functionality and can add any content to your website.

There are two official ways to extend ImpressPages CMS:

1. Custom theme
2. Plugin

Every time you want some new functionality, you need to write a plugin. Plugins might have some widgets inside them. By default they are placed in widget folder inside the directory of a plugin. Each plugin can have any number of widgets or it can have none of them. It's completely optional.
